I’m an expert educator: I have plenty of experience, knowledge, qualifications, testimonials and awards, after all. But I’m really an English language teacher at heart! So I provide carefully-structured support for learners, teachers, academic managers, and schools across the international ELT (English Language Teaching) sector: at the centre, though, is always the English language learner.
I’m very strongly committed to raising and maintaining standards in ELT, and so I always lead by example - I accept nothing but the best from myself professionally, and I expect you to buy in to this ethos, too. But don’t worry! Although I’m dynamic and demanding, I’m also empathetic and supportive. I believe in building close collaboration and engagement to foster your very best growth and development.
Finally… I can’t stand the lazy “do as I say, not as I do” approach; instead, I believe it’s fine not to know the answer, but you do have to know there’s a question.

My approach
If you’re a student, a teacher or you run a school, you’ll be bored hearing the same bland claims from “passionate educators” about individualised learning, excellence, engagement, etc. These are all very important to teaching and learning, of course, and I make the same claims myself.
However, unlike most I have a wealth of experience as a learner, a teacher, a teacher-trainer and a senior academic manager, and I’m well-qualified (DELTA, MA Applied Linguistics) so my practice is rooted in scholarship and evidence. With 35 years’ experience in education I am a genuinely expert teacher, an authoritative and empathetic teacher trainer, a strategic and analytical leader and manager. But don’t take my word for it!
